Kevin and I got a last minute opportunity for VIP tickets to see Barack Obama at a rally in East Lansing last week. There were about 25,000 people there, so we felt really lucky to have reserved seating. It was so exciting to be there, but we also were nervous because we weren't sure how we were going to manage to go to a 2:30 rally and still get back to DeWitt by 4:00 to get Philip at the bus stop. (Not that we let a little thing like that stop us!) By about 3:05 we knew we needed to leave even though he wasn't done speaking, but we quickly found out that the secret service wasn't letting people in our area leave. (Don't worry grandparents...it all worked out.) In the end it was to our advantage because, in trying to leave early, we ended up in the area where Barack would exit the stage. So when he came around to shake hands with the crowd, we were right there...no zoom at all needed for those pictures! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.Thursday, October 9, 2008

So incredibly jealous! Go Barack!
I thought you'd enjoy those pics! He was really great.
We saw him earlier this summer in Detroit, but we were not close at all. It was Kaiden's first political rally :)
As meek070 said, I am really envious but happy for you. How DID you get Philip on time? The pictures where great.
